Charcuterie Chat

Please join us On March 7th in the Food Resource Center for an in-person charcuterie and chat about all things financial literacy.  Lakehead's Financial Literacy Engagement Assistant, Chantal will be available to answer questions and discuss budgeting and general money management. At this time students can also book one-on-one financial counseling sessions. Everyone who attends gets entered in a draw for a prize basket!

Lunch & Learn: Making the Most of Your Meals

As part of Nutrition month, come grab lunch from the FRC and get tips from Student Health and Wellness' Health Promoter and Registered Kinesiologist, Lindsey Wachter, on how to make small tweaks and changes in your meals to make them more filling and nutrient-dense, without breaking the budget.

(OR) Dining Hall Q&A with a Dietitian

Are you a regular at the caf and curious about how to get the most out of your meals? Join Dietitian Donna from Dana Hospitality for a Lunch & Learn at the dining hall! Donna will walk through the dining hall with the group to discuss the food options, answer questions, and help you build a nutritious meal that meets your preferences. The group will also have an opportunity to sit down with Donna to learn more about healthy eating strategies.

Stop by Simcoe Hall to pick up a journaling kit and learn how journaling can be a part of your self-care routine! Each kit includes a journal, writing tools and an intro guide to journaling as self-care. 

Keeping a record of personal thoughts and feelings is particularly helpful in supporting mental health by:

  • Reducing anxiety
  • Breaking away from a nonstop cycle of obsessive thinking and brooding
  • Improving the awareness and perception of events
  • Regulating emotions
  • Encouraging awareness

Leap Day: Treat Yo'self

It's LEAP DAY - every four years we get an extra day on February 29th. Why not use this extra 24 hours to be nice to yourself? If you struggle with making time for yourself, set aside today for self-growth and recovery. 

If you are looking for inspiration, drop by the Student Health and Wellness table outside the main cafeteria to get ideas about how you can treat yourself.

Leap Day Movie Night

Leap Day is a bonus day so Student Health and Wellness wants you to treat yourself! 

Drop by UC1017 for some Leap Day trivia followed by a screening of Leap Year. Themed treats and prizes will be available, no cost to join.
