Mitacs is launching its second Indigenous Pathways Research and Innovation call. This program drives innovation through partnerships between Indigenous communities, organizations and interns, and post-secondary institutions.

From January to June 2022, Mitacs will host a series of webinars that profile projects that emerged from the Indigenous Pathways Research and Innovation call. Their goal is to celebrate the work of Indigenous researchers, innovators and communities. This Mitacs webinar series will also provide a platform to explore Indigenous research practices and opportunities emerging from the Indigenous Pathways program – through topics determined by Indigenous communities.

The first webinar, being held on January 27, 2022, explores the Sanyakola Language Revitalization project. The project shares a model for the reclamation of endangered Indigenous languages, drawing on Kwakwaka'wakw pedagogy rooted in land-based settings.
