Safeguarding Science Scenario Based Workshop: Sensitive Dual-Use Research

About the Event
Better understand if research is considered dual-use and how to properly mitigate the risks in this workshop from Public Safety Canada. The scenario-based exercise allows participants to apply knowledge from the Safeguarding Science session and collaboratively address research security challenges. Starting with a high-level hypothetical scenario, the moderator introduces increasing complexity to simulate real-world due diligence. At each stage, participants reassess risks and explore mitigation strategies. The session ends with a summary of key insights and takeaways. Participants will also receive an overview of Lakehead’s Research Security measures and the support tools available to faculty and staff.
