Tailoring lignocellulosic materials to advanced functional materials

Dr. Fatehi carries out research on the conversion of lignocellulosic materials to advanced functional materials, biosensors, smart chemicals. In his research, he evaluates industrially attractice routes and environmentally friendly routes for the generation of such products so that the outcomes could be adapted by industry readily.

Overview of Research

The grant challenge of Dr. Fatehi's research programs are 1) the generation of a conversion process that can be adapted in the pulp and paper industry, 2) the creation of fine chemicals, advanced materials, and biosensors that are compatible with the currently used one in the industry, and 3) the development of new smart materials for addressing the air and water pollution.
