Overview of Research

As Canada Research Chair in Social-Ecological Health, Dr. Lindsay Galway is studying and addressing the interconnected social and ecological determinants of health. She and her research team are using an interdisciplinary, place-based, and community-engaged approach to identify how we can respond to climatic and environmental change in our communities to promote sustainability, health and social justice for all. This work will advance the emerging field of planetary health and inform public policy and action in Canada and beyond. Dr. Galway’s research program will also support integration, interdisciplinary research, and intersectoral action through methodological and practical innovations.
