How can I apply to the Nurse Practitioner Program?

Applications for the Nurse Practitioner Program go to the Office of Graduate Studies. Direct any admission related questions to Graduate Studies.

Can I apply to Lakehead University and do my clinical practicum in my home community?

All clinical practice is to be done in Lakehead University’s geographic boundary which is east to Wawa, north to Hudson's Bay, west to the Manitoba border, and south to the U.S. border. Therefore, if home is within this boundary we will look for suitable placements in your area.

Does Lakehead University offer the NP program with a Master’s Degree?

Yes, the Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner Specialization provides students with a Master’s degree and NP credential. 

Do you have other start dates than September?

We only have one admission intake per year. All students start in September as any course that starts at another time (e.g. winter) has a fall pre-requisite.
