Wetlands should be seen as a key part of sustainable agriculture

PhD student Paul Benalcazar, along with three other PhD scholarship recipients from the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute (CAPI), recently published a report outlining the financial benefits of restoring wetlands and conservation methods to restore them on Canadian farms. The report highlights best management practices in agroforestry that promote biodiversity and ecosystem services and underscores the importance of governments taking a lead in assisting Canadian farmers in implementing them.
