Please join the Department of Music Vocal and Chamber Ensembles in a concert featuring Leonard Berstein's Chichester Psalms and Bach's Cantata 106, "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbester Zeit" with musicians from the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and soloists.  

 

 

 The Lakehead University New Music Ensemble will present a concert of music of our time at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2006 in the Jean McNulty Recital Hall in the William H. Buset Centre for Music and Visual Arts. The concert will include new compositions by Lakehead University composers written especially for this intrepid group of young musicians. Admission is free.

The Department of Music in collaboration with the Department of English will present an evening of Renaissance poetry and music with guest artists The Musicians in Ordinary, Hallie Fishel, voice and John Edwards, lute.

music of the Renaissance for voice and lute 

The Lakehead University Vocal Ensemble and the Lakehead University Chamber Choir, both under the direction of Dean Jobin-Bevans, will join with the Lakehead University Chamber Ensembles, under the direction of Heather Morrison, to perform their annual end of term concert.  The concert will take place at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, at 7:30 p.m. and will include works by Bruckner, Biebl and Byrd.  The church is located on the corner of Red River Road and Algoma Street.  Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family.  The univeristy community is invited to attend this exciting evening of vocal and instrumental music.

 

Students of Tellie Kähärä will present songs by A. Scarlatti, Arne, Schumann, Brahms, Fauré, Kuula, Rodrigo and Bernstein.  This recital is open to the public free of charge.  Everyone welcome!
