The Department of Geology is pleased to announce plans to establish a Centre of Excellence in Mineral Exploration and Sustainable Mining Development. We believe that the centre will be essential to ensuring that our region is at the forefront of mining innovation and productivity. The Centre will collaborate with companies to carry out research in discovery, advanced exploration and development, and the environmental and social aspects of mineral extraction.
