Dennis Denisoff: “Coding Against Erasure: Visualizing Gender and Nationalism in Victorian Periodicals”

 Dennis Denisoff is a Professor of English and Communications and Culture at Ryerson University. He is Co-Director of the Centre for Digital Humanities (www.ryerson.ca/cdh), with his main digital project being The Yellow Nineties Online (www.1890s.ca). He is also the author of Aestheticism and Sexual Parody: 1840-1940 and Sexual Visuality from Literature to Film: 1850-1950, co-editor of _Perennial Decay: On the Aesthetics and Politics of Decadence, and editor of The Nineteenth-Century Child and Consumer Culture and a special issue of Victorian Review entitled "Natural Environments." He is completing a monograph on Pagan Ecology in British Literature and Culture: 1860-1920.
