The Department of English is holding their annual book sale to support English Program student activities.  Wednesday October 4th in the Agora.

A fabulous selection of quality used books will be available.  Hard cover books are $3.00, trade paperbacks $2.00, and all others $1.00 each. There will be something for everyone.

Anyone wishing to donate books can bring them to Ryan Building 3029 during regular office hours before October 4 or directly to the Agora on October 4th.  

The Department of English is hosting a pizza party for all English Program students in OA2005 and, weather permitting, may move to the Garden Area.  Come out to meet with your peers and Department Faculty while enjoying lunch.

Want to learn more about research grants?  The Department of English is offering an OGS/SSHRC workshop to show how to apply for such grants/scholarships. Learn deadlines, how to, what happens after one applies, etc.  Interested students, particularly those in the English program in 3rd, 4th, and 5th year are encouraged to attend. This session will be video conferenced from Thunder Bay campus.

Undergraduate and graduate students of English on both campuses are presenting papers. Presenters will be grouped into four panels:

Mixed Media: Visual Culture and the Politics of Representation - Moderator: Dr. M. Flegel

Critical and Creative Responses to Medieval and Early Modern Literature - Moderator: Dr. M. Richardson

Constructing Children and Children’s Texts - Moderator: Dr. C. Parkes

Mixed Media II: Visual Culture and the Politics of Representation (Canadian Edition) - Moderator: Dr. J. Leggatt

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The Artery Launch Party is combined with our annual "GenderF*cked" genderbender.

Fun, frolic, and frivolity will prevail on this fun evening event.

Entrance fee also includes a copy of the newest edition of The Artery.

All English program students are invited to enjoy pizza lunch with the Department of English.

An excellent opportunity to mingle and socialize in a relaxed atmosphere with fellow students and English faculty.
