Undergraduate & Graduate International StudentsEvery undergraduate and graduate international and exchange student must be enrolled in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). All students should be enrolled for as long as they will be studying at Lakehead. The fee for this insurance plan will be automatically billed to your student account upon registration and is due with your first tuition instalment*. UHIP Fee information can be found on their website. Your UHIP card will be emailed to your Lakehead University email address once you are enrolled. Please email Christopher Gallinger at uhip@lakeheadu.ca if you have any questions. Most of the Health Clinics across Canada will accept your UHIP and will directly charge to your Insurance. However, in some cases, you may be required to pay upfront, and then fill out a UHIP Claim Form to get a reimbursement of your amount. Please refer to the tutorial on how to submit a claim for more information. English Language Centre StudentsAs a student in the English Language Centre, you will be automatically registered to receive health insurance through Guard.Me. Learn more about Guard.Me coverage. |
