Kinesiology Affiliations

KALU

The Kinesiology at Lakehead University (KALU) club is set in place to represent all students enrolled in the Kinesiology program at Lakehead University.  All students enrolled in the Kinesiology program and Lakehead University are automatically members of KALU.  The purpose of KALU is to organize extracurricular activities amongst Kinesiology students to facilitate cohesion from entry-level to the graduating class, all other members, associates, and faculties.

Ontario Kinesiology Association

The Ontario Kinesiology Association was incorporated as the Ontario Association of Applied Kinesiology in May 1982, as a non-profit corporation without share capital. Today the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA) has over 2,000 members from across Ontario and other provinces.

The OKA currently engages in advocacy work on behalf of its members. We also serve to promote the profession of kinesiology to the general public, third-party payers, and other healthcare providers.

The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO) is the regulatory body for the profession of kinesiology in Ontario. The College is committed to ensuring excellent professional practice by registered kinesiologists.

The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance

The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance/Alliance Canadienne de Kinésiologie (CKA/ACK) is functioning to represent Kinesiologists on a national level. The CKA/ACK is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes the advancement of and advocates the profession of Kinesiology in Canada.
