Help Shape the Future of Lakehead University
The Lakehead University Board Governance and Nominating Committee continues to seek nominations from interested and qualified persons to fill upcoming vacancies on the Board of Governors.
The Board of Governors is responsible for the government, conduct, management and control of the University, except for matters specifically mandated to the Senate. The Board deliberates decisions related to property, finances, strategic planning, oversight and the hiring and reappointment of the President. Currently the Board is composed of 20 members, the majority are external members.
Following a typical Board structure, the Board delegates some of its deliberations to six standing committees. Some of the areas the Board committees are currently working on include monitoring the development of the upcoming budget, investment portfolios, fund-raising initiatives, and risk assessment.
