Help Shape the Future of Lakehead University!

The Lakehead University Board Governance & Nominating Committee continues to seek nominations from interested and qualified persons to fill upcoming vacancies on the Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors is responsible for the government, conduct, management and control of the University, except for matters specifically mandated to the Senate. The Board deliberates decisions related to property, finances, strategic planning, oversight and the hiring and reappointment of the President. The Board is composed of 17 members and, in contrast to Senate, the majority of Board members are external members.

Following a typical Board structure, the Board delegates some of its deliberations to six standing committees. Some of the areas the Board committees are currently working on include monitoring the development of the upcoming budget, investment portfolios, fund-raising initiatives, and risk assessment.

If you would like to be considered for a position on the Lakehead University Board of Governors please review the Board of Governors Nominations Process and complete and submit the appropriate nomination form below. Nominations for consideration are accepted throughout the year and are reviewed annually by the Board Governance & Nominating Committee.
