When compared to all Canadian universities in this category, Lakehead rose two spots from last year to rank eighth.

Sep 10	Lakehead researchers receiving nearly $350,000 from CIHR (Thunder Bay) Lakehead University researchers are receiving nearly $350,000 from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to improve the quality of people’s lives in Canada and abroad. Dr. Vicki Kristman, an assistant professor in the Department of Health Sciences, is receiving a New Investigator Award of $300,000 over five years for a supervisor training program that could improve work disability outcomes for injured workers.
Sep 4	New Shuttle Service Links Lakehead University Orillia with City of Barrie (Orillia) Beginning September 8, Lakehead University students, faculty and staff will have the option to enjoy a new bus service between Lakehead Orillia’s 500 University Avenue site and the City of Barrie. The new transit link, established by Lakehead University and Hammond Transportation, will provide service between the Lakehead Orillia campus and the Barrie Bus Terminal four times a day (Monday to Friday), as well as on weekends.
