The Department of History and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities welcome the public to attend “News From the Giant,” a virtual presentation on the use of locally produced archival film footage to tell stories of the Lakehead.

The event includes the launch of “News from the Giant,” a series of short newsreels made with nightly news footage from the late 50s and early 60s.

Find out more about what was going on back then and how this archival footage will soon be made available to researchers and the public. This event was previously scheduled for April 14, but will now be presented online on Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 pm.
