From the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, to an ever-growing climate justice movement, and from demands for gender equity to resistance to austerity movements and far-right nationalism, meaningful classroom conversations across the curriculum have never been more vital.

Join best-selling author David Stocker (Maththatmatters, and Maththatmatters 2) for a one-hour exploration of ideas and activities that pull together history, language, mathematics, science, political science and social justice.

SDNR is proud to host the Thunder Bay Indigenous Fashion Week. As part of a movement to create opportunities for Indigenous women and youths  living in remote regions of Ontario, the week's activities will include a networking event, workshops, as well as a marketplace. The week will wrap with a final fashion show. 

The week will begin with an interactive lecture by Indigenous Ph.d scholar Charlene Lindsay. This event will be held on December 17th, 2019 at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law (Lakehead University) from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. 

Workshops such as Dress Making, Beading, Drumming Circles and various other Cultural activities will be combined with opportunities to learn more about the revitalization of Indigenous fashion, arts and languages. These events will be held on December 18th at the Agora complex from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. 

The Indigenous runway show will feature some of the most eclectic Designers, Artists and fashionista's from many of the remote fly-in only First Nation communities and will also be held at the Agora complex from 12:00pm -6:00pm on December 19th, 2019.
