The Placebo Effect: Is Expectation Even Necessary?
Research evidence suggests that the placebo effect is responsible for a significant component of the therapeutic outcome of many medications. The expectation of being influenced by a drug is supposedly what underlies the effect. This presentation seeks to critically evaluate the latest research evidence highlighting the brain areas and cognitive processes involved in this captivating phenomenon.
