(OR) Therapy Dogs

The cutest kind of stress relief is back on campus! 

St. John Ambulance Therapy dogs will be visiting Heritage Place and Simcoe Hall from 1-2 pm on Tuesday February 28th.

(OR) Know Your Status

Stop by the Student Health and Wellness table located in Simcoe Hall February 7th from 1-3 pm to learn about Safer Sex, Healthy Relationships and find out about local sexual health resources available to you. Getting tested and knowing your status is critical in protecting yourself and your sexual partners.

(OR) Mindfulness Jars

Get crafty with Student Health and Wellness by making a glitter mindfulness jar. A mindfulness jar is a great way to get into the practice of meditation, or just serve as a reminder to clear your mind. You can give your jar a shake, watch the glitter settle, and breathe. Plus, they are super pretty!

(OR) Journaling Kits

Stop by Simcoe Hall to pick up a journalling kit as part of Student Health and Wellness' Love week. Each kit includes a journal, writing tools and an intro guide to journalling as self-care. 

Keeping a record of personal thoughts and feelings is particularly helpful in supporting mental health:

Show yourself some love this Valentine's Day! Pick up an affirmation flower and a sweet treat brought to you by Student Health and Wellness to Kick off our Love week! Take a few minutes to decorate and write some Valentine's Day cards for your friends and loved ones. 

Expressing gratitude can help people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.

Join Student Health and Wellness to learn some simple mindfulness practices you can use in daily life. Even a few mindful minutes can help you let go of negativity, slow down racing throughs, and calm both your body and mind.

Did you know most people don’t know they have an STI because they have never had any symptoms? Getting a routine STI test is an important way to help keep you and your partners safe.
