Did you know that March is Nutrition Month?!
Nutrition is so much more than “Eat Your Vegetables," especially when taken in context of university students. The food we eat impacts our physical and mental health, our energy levels, our mood, and even our sleep quality.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, or like you just can't keep up with everything coming your way over the next few weeks? You’re not alone, and what you feel is probably normal. Remember, it’s okay to not be okay. With the end of the school year coming up there’s often a lot still to do before we can take a break, check-out for the summer, and let go of what’s been stressing us for the last 6 or 7 months.
Spring is in the air! You know what that means? Its time to practice using your green thumb! Join Student Health & Wellness to paint a flower pot and plant your very own sunflower seeds! Let's welcome spring with open arms after a long, cold winter and think about the longer days and warmer weather that's soon to come.
Do you know your chronotype? Are you a Dolphin, Lion, Bear, or Wolf?
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Celebrate with Student Health & Wellness in Simcoe Hall to play some 'NOT' drinking games and pick up a safe party kit!
Post-secondary students drink more frequently and consume greater quantities of alcohol than their non-student peers. Students may drink for a lot of reasons, including peer pressure, wanting to have fun, to socialize, to be drunk, being bored or lacking alternatives to drinking, or to make up for times when they could not drink (e.g., exam period). If you or your friends choose to enjoy a casual cold one after class, or party all night long, it's important to know how to help everyone stay safe.
Do you feel like you’re tired all the time? Does your energy peak and crash throughout the day like a very tiring roller coaster? Is the mid-afternoon crash all too familiar for you?
