Not all spelling and vocabulary enrichment programs are synonymous with teaching young writers to spell and to use words effectively.

This non-credit workshop helps you to discover hands-on, practical, and effective strategies for teaching spelling and vocabulary in your own language arts classroom. This course provides you with instruction, which ensures the acquisition and retention of words by teaching in the context of reading and writing.

Fun with Fractions J/I and I/S Divisions

This non-credit workshop will provide teacher candidates with the opportunity to increase their own understanding of fractions through hands-on experience and activities that you can use in your future school classroom.

Project E.C.O. Learning

The acronym "E.C.O." in Project E.C.O. Learning stands for "Ecological literacy, sense of Community and Obligation to life on earth".

Knowing how we can contribute to the Earth’s future health and the life that it contains is the first imperative of the 21st Century. This non-credit, introductory workshop will help you to understand how the natural world works and how we can live responsibly in it.

Multiple Intelligences

This non-credit workshop teaches you about Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences and helps you to explore your own intelligences. Through this workshop, you will see that some traditional tests and assignments do not adequately measure a student’s ability as well as some of the implications that this has on teaching and preparing lesson plans.

Teaching Kindergarten

This non-credit workshop will explore the qualities of children who are three (3), four (4) and five (5) years old. These qualities will help to show you what activities these age groups will enjoy and how to choose age and developmentally appropriate activities. These activities will take into account the importance of play and stages of play.

Integrating Drama into the Curriculum

This non-credit workshop will provide you with exciting and practical activities that you can use in all areas of the curriculum such as Mathematics, Social Studies, and Language. This workshop’s activities are highly motivational, and are appropriate for students of all abilities in the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate levels.
