Lakehead University's Commitment

The role of Lakehead University faculty and staff in general is that of teaching, research, and public service. Service to the community and the transfer of knowledge and technology are central to the mission of Lakehead University. One of Lakehead's primary goals is to encourage the pursuit of new knowledge, the application of knowledge to problems, and the transfer of knowledge by its faculty and students. To achieve this goal, partnerships are encouraged to pursue research initiatives that focus on the research interests of faculty and that meet the needs of the private and public sectors. Such partnerships are sought with groups such as industry, business, non-governmental organizations, other universities, social or government agencies, and others.
