MATH 1172 SA/Calculus II/ MATH 1230 SA/Calculus II for Engineers
Course description: Applications of integrals; one-to-one functions and inverses; logarithmic, exponential, power and inverse trigonometric functions; techniques of integration; limits of sequences; indeterminate forms; improper integrals; infinite series; tests for convergence; Taylor series; power series.

MATH 2050 SA/Applied Analysis I
Course description: An introductory course in ordinary differential equations. First order differential equations; exact equations; separation of variables, integrating factors, linear and non-linear equations, higher order differential equations, linear, constant co-efficients, homogeneous, non-homogeneous. Systems of differential equations, Laplace transforms, series solution. The emphasis is on applications to engineering problems.

MATH 3012 SA/Vector Analysis
Course description: Vectors, vector functions, and vector fields. Divergence, curl, and gradient in rectangular, cylindrical, and spherical co-ordinate systems. Line, surface, and multiple integrals. Theorems of Green, Gauss, and Stokes.

MATH 4030 SA/Probability & Statistics
Course description: Probability and relative frequency; joint probabilities of related and independent events; Bayes' Theorem; statistical independence; random variables; cumulative distribution functions; probability density functions; parameters describing the central tendency and dispersion of distribution; probability distribution functions in engineering; law of large numbers; central limit theorem; testing hypotheses and goodness of fit; sampling theory; linear correlation and regression.

MATH 1271ADE/AD1/Discrete Mathematics
Course description: Sets, logic, and functions; Boolean Algebras, Algorithms; Basic counting principles; permutations and combinations; discrete probability, recurrence relations; principle of inclusion and exclusion; pigeonhole principle; graph theory.

Qualifications Preferred: A MSc or PhD in Mathematical Sciences is preferred.
The ideal candidate will possess an appropriate combination of both academic and professional experience in a field related to the course. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred, and experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired. The Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies values and respects Indigenous traditional learning and knowledge and embraces various forms of teaching and learning where appropriate. Consequently, for Indigenous content focussed courses we will prioritize knowledge of Indigenous languages, community-based learning, and traditional knowledge above academic credentials, in the selection of candidates. For graduate courses, preference may be given to candidates who hold a PhD, or are working towards a PhD, combined with relevant professional experience.
