Summer Institute on Economic Security and Local Resilience

Lakehead University-Orillia Campus will host the “Summer Institute on Economic Security and Local Resilience” from July 18-19, 2024 at 500 University Ave. in Orillia, Ontario. This event is designed as an advanced level of knowledge transfer and mobilization event funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) under Connection Grants, the City of Orillia and Lakehead University. Apart from leading Canadian scholars, major presenters are distinguished speakers and respected officials from Canada’s local councils, the Economic Developers Association of Canada, Ontario Chamber of Commerce and Economic Developers Council of Ontario. Delegates and guests are economic developers, planners, academics, local government officials, graduate students and undergraduate students as well as stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
