New SSHRC Grant Awarded

Lakehead Receives $957,081 in New SSHRC Grants

(May 26, 2008 - Thunder Bay, ON)  Lakehead University faculty members have received nine new Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) grants this year, totaling $442,081.

One of the nine grants has beens awarded for Aid to Small Universities.
 
"Development of a Regional 'Advanced Institute for Globalization and Culture' to Facilitate Interdisciplinary Research Capacity in the Social Sciences and Humanities" was applied for by Ron Harpelle, Department of History, and Todd Dufresne, Department of Philosophy, Lakehead University. The grant will facilitate research by the AIG+C for a  three year period.
