Library Resources for Health Sciences Students

The library provides a wide range of services and resources to students enrolled in courses through Lakehead University.

Start at the Library website. It's your gateway to books, journal articles, online guides, etc., for your coursework. For help with specifics, use the following resources:

Need help with your research?

Start your research by checking out the Health Sciences Subject Guide. The tabs on the left direct you to resources such as article databases, reference books (some online) and websites which are academic in nature.

Are you new to research or need a bit of a refresher? The Online Guides/Tutorials webpage has links to general library research guides and specific tutorials on everything  from finding journal articles, newpapers and Indigenous resources.

Searching for journal articles? Search thousands of journals relevant to your studies. Accessing journals through the library's website means that the full-text of the article will appear if we subscribe to it, and you can ususlly restrict your search to high quality academic sources.

Want to schedule a research consultation?

There are many ways to connect with a Liaison Librarian to support you during your research. Visit Liaison Librarians & Archivists | Lakehead University Library Website for information on making an appointment or for immediate assistance.

Need help with formatting?

Do you need to format your bibliography in APA style? or MLA? or Chicago? No problem. Zotero will organize, store and format your citations for you (and it can do it in over 200 styles!)
