Doshisha University

Doshisha University in Japan was founded in 1875 and was originally named the Doshisha English School. Located in Kyoto, Japan’s cultural capital, on the island of Honshu, is considered to be one of the most important and beautiful cities in the country. It also serves as a significant economic hub, as well as a major tourist destination, and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site on account of its ancient monuments and Shinto shrines. The university campus is located in the northern part of the city, a vibrant area in its own right, with the center of Kyoto and the island of Honshu accessible to students via convenient transport links.
