CNU places high value on international relations, with almost 300 sister universities. It offers a variety of international exchange programs that may be paid for fully or in part by the university. Students coming to CNU on exchange benefit from a free intensive Korean language course. The university has a diverse range of research institutes. They include such facilities as the Research Center for Advanced Magnetic Materials, the Research Institute for Korean Politics, the Materials Chemical Laboratory, and the Research Institute for Rapidly Solidified Materials.
