Aboriginal Cultural & Support Services in conjunction with the Aboriginal Awareness Centre is hosting a series of woman’s hand drum teachings.

Join us on a journey of making your own hand drum and learn the teachings of the drum.  Experience a sense of inspiration and accomplishment as you create and connect with your drum.  Students will have the opportunity to learn songs and teachings as provided by Elder Beatrice Twance-Hynes of the Medicine Wheel Singers.

Registration for drum making is limited to the first 20 students who sign up.   We kindly ask that students sign up only if they can make the time commitment to all four sessions.

Women with their own hand drums are also welcome to attend.  Session dates and times are as follows: January 29th, February 12th, and February 26th in the Aboriginal Student Lounge (SC0004) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  A final session on March 2nd will see students participate in an opening drum song for the Aboriginal Awareness Centre’s Faceless Dolls Project at 10:00 a.m. in the Agora, as part of Aboriginal Awareness Week celebrations.
