As part of Aboriginal Awareness Week; Aboriginal Awareness Centre, Lakehead University Student Union and Aboriginal Initiatives presents Queses IMC Aborignal Hip Hop Artist and Speaker. Thursday, March 5th, 10:00 am to 12 noon in The Study (back room).

Quese IMC has performed nationally and internationally, has given keynotes and workshops on topics ranging from cultural awareness, empowerment and leadership, hiphop, art and activism, social justice, organizing and healthy lifestyles. He continues to work with and within indigenous communities across the country, as well as inner-city youth programs, high schools, universities, youth conferences, multi-cultural impact building and cultural exchanges.

As part of Aboriginal Awareness Week; Aboriginal Awareness Centre, Lakehead University Student Union and Aboriginal Initiatives invites you to a presentation on the Restorative Justice and Talking Together Program created by Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services. Thursday, March 5th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm in The Study (back room).

Talking Together is a restorative approach for dealing with child welfare issues. The program is an alterative dispute resolution option created in 2002 to address the child welfare needs of families from the NAN communities.

The Talking Together Program is a process based on traditional circles. Circles were used since time immemorial to restore harmony between family members.

Wear your moccasins to school and work, and join us for an incredible event! Rock Your Mocs is known as a worldwide initiative to bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples together to celebrate Indigenous culture.
