Admission & Application Information for Bible College Transfer Students

General Admission Requirements:
- A minimum overall average of C / 60% or equivalent;
- College must be accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE);
- Successfully meets the minimum program specific preparatory course prerequisites at the Grade 12U or M level or equivalent;
- If not eligible right out of high school, a minimum of two years of full time studies must be completed at the Bible College.

How to Apply:
To apply to any undergraduate program offered at Lakehead University (excluding the Two-Year Bachelor of Education, Juris Doctor or One-Year Honours Bachelor of Social Work programs), the application form used will vary on the number of courses you intend to complete during your time at Lakehead University.
For full-time studies: (four or more full course equivalents)

For part-time studies: (less than three and one half courses)

Required Documentation:
Applicants are to submit the following required documentation as part of the application process.
- Application & Application Fees (including the $55 document evaluation fee)
- Official Transcripts
- Course Descriptions
- Language Proficiency Requirements (if applicable)
- Consent Form & Reference Letter (Nursing transfer applicants only)
- Audition & Theory Test (Music applicants only)
- Art Portfolio (Visual Arts applicants only)
Transfer Credit:
Applicants from Bible Colleges, accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), formerly the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges (AABC), may be considered for advanced standing. Consideration will be based on:
- Two years study is required for applicants who did not previously complete the necessary minimum requirements for admission to the university (high school transcript may be required)
- A minimum of a B- grade must have been attained in the appropriate course(s) for transfer credit consideration
- Only academic courses will be granted credit; no credit will be granted for courses related to church education or administration, pastoral studies, counselling, or courses intended to promote doctrinal or denominational belief.
- Credit may be permitted at the first or second year level only
The assessment of transfer credit towards the first two years of an undergraduate degree at Lakehead University does not constitute recognition of a completed degree from an accredited bible college for purposes of admission to any post-baccalaureate degree program. The assignment of transfer credits to a specific degree program is at the discretion of the admitting authority of the faculty or academic department concerned.
