Program Requirements

Program requirements differ for each department with which Women’s Studies offers the Collaborative MA/MEd. However, all students in all streams must complete Women’s Studies 5101, normally in the first year of study. Students who will complete a thesis must do so under the direction of someone in their home department who is also approved by the Women’s Studies program for thesis supervision. The thesis proposal must be approved by a member of the Department of Women’s Studies. For students completing a project, the project must also be supervised by someone approved by Women’s Studies, and a proposal form must be completed. For those completing the MA or MEd by coursework, evidence of the completion of coursework, such as a major paper, related to Women’s Studies, but completed in a course in the home department, must be submitted to the Department of Women’s Studies for approval. The student will not be approved for graduation with the Specialization in Women’s Studies unless this paperwork is completed. Click the link below for the form:
