New Book Published in the Department of Philosophy

The Economy as Cultural System: Theory, Capitalism, Crisis has just appeared in soft and hard covers at Bloomsbury Books.  In ten chapters, new and established scholars (Thomas Kemple, Mark Kingwell, Franco Berardi, and Joel Faflak) examine contemporary capitalism in the light of social and cultural theory.  Imre Szeman (Alberta) calls the book "fascinating and theoretically astute," while Jodi Dean (Hobart and William Smith) calls it "provocative."  The editors, Todd Dufresne and Clara Sacchetti, teach in the Department of Philosophy, and completed the book during their year at The University of Toronto.
