(Thunder Bay) Lakehead University's Northern Educational Centre on Aging and Health (NECAH) is announcing a name change to better reflect the Centre's dual focus. Commencing June 9, 2004, the Centre will be named the Centre for Education and Research on Aging and Health, with the corresponding CERAH acronym. |

They will be holding their annual Pinning Celebration on Friday, May 28 at 2 p.m. This celebration is a special tradition which has been taking place at Lakehead U since 1975. |

The Legacy Forest and ULERN (Upper Lakes Environmental Research Network) present "Challenges for Adopting New Knowledge and Models in Forest Management" in the Advanced Technology & Academic Centre (ATAC) on May 12 and 13. |

(Thunder Bay) Thunder Bay-Superior North MP, the Honourable Joe Comuzzi, and Thunder Bay-Atikokan MP, Stan Dromisky, are pleased to announce FedNor support to Lakehead University for the development of five new initiatives. The University will enhance programming in its Innovation Management Office (IMO), design a toxicity prediction system for use in the pulp and paper production industry, obtain accreditation and expand its DNA and Forest Soils laboratories, as well as purchase specialized equipment for testing wood products in order to help the forest industry maximize the value of harvested resources. |
