Finding and Incorporating Open Educational Resources

Discover how Open Educational Resources (OER) can support engaging, accessible, and affordable learning. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to find high-quality OER, evaluate resources for relevance and reliability, and incorporate them into their teaching and learning. Whether you are new to OER or looking to expand your use of openly licensed materials, this workshop will provide practical strategies, tools, and examples to help you get started.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Find OER using a range of repositories, search tools, and platforms;
• Understand open licences and identify how resources can be legally reused, adapted, and shared,
• Evaluate OER for quality, relevance, accessibility, and suitability for their learners;
• Use a Backward Design model to incorporate OER effectively into courses and learning activities, including strategies for adapting resources to meet specific teaching and learning needs.
