PhD Defense - Biotechnology: Behrooz Afra

The Biotechnology PhD candidate, Behrooz Afra will present his dissertation research on Monday, April 7 at 1 pm on zoom.

Thesis Title:
Flow Control of Low-Reynolds Number Airfoils Using Morphing Surface

Our research focused on improving the aerodynamic performance of airfoils by using surface morphing techniques. We studied how traveling waves applied to the surface of an airfoil can help control flow separation and improve lift in both laminar and turbulent conditions. The results provide insights into advanced flow control strategies that could enhance the efficiency of aircraft and wind turbine blades.
