Dr. Pengcheng Xi
"Human-Centric AI Sensing and Applications"

Dr. Pengcheng Xi is a senior research scientist affiliated with the National Research Council Canada (NRC), while also holding Adjunct Professor roles at Carleton University and the University of Waterloo in Canada. His research focus revolves around machine learning and deep learning, with applications spanning computer vision, graphics, image processing, robotics, signal analysis, and human modeling. On these topics, Pengcheng has an extensive publication record, comprising peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He actively contributes to the academic community by serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a guest editor for MDPI journals, and a technical program committee member for esteemed conferences. His research has earned him multiple awards from the NRC, recognizing his research excellence and significant contributions to clients. In 2014, he was honored with the Alice Hamilton Award for Occupational Health and Safety by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Pengcheng holds B.E. and M.E. degrees in Computer Engineering, and received an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University in Canada.
