Your Lakehead University Toastmasters Storytellers club will be hosting a Speechcraft Program during Reading Week (Oct. 10 to 13).
Speechcraft is the quickest means by which non-Toastmasters can jump right into the process of improving their speaking and presentation skills. It is structured and run like a condensed Toastmasters meeting with short educationals during the meeting, as well as coaching and mentoring throughout.
Some benefits of the program include gaining confidence in public speaking, developing communication and language skills, becoming an effective listener, evaluating effectively, using body language and visual aids, advancing social skills, and improving job or promotion prospects.
This inexpensive professional development opportunity is open to students, staff, and faculty for a registration fee of $25. To register, contact Robin Sutherland, Aboriginal Transitions Advisor, at 343-8028 or transitions@lakeheadu.ca.
