Nurse Practitioner stream: Primary care specialty

I have more than 20 years of clinical experience, primarily working with children and families in primary care settings. I continue to work as a Nurse Practitioner because I love clinical practice and it helps ensure my teaching and research activities are relevant and current.
My research interests focus on children’s health, Patient Engagement (PE/POR) in research, and Knowledge Translation for parents, children, and families. My work reflects an intention to collaborate with parents and caregivers in health research to generate better clinical outcomes for children. I believe Knowledge Translation for patients and caregivers can promote empowerment and allow for informed decision-making, which can ultimately improve care.
I grew up in Alberta and moved to Thunder Bay with my family in 2010. I love the amazing opportunities we have in Northwestern Ontario to be active outdoors. I enjoy running, skiing, swimming, biking, and reading a good book in a hammock.
