Jerri-Lynn moved to Thunder Bay with her husband and children to be closer to family and has come to love Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.
Jerri-Lynn chose to go to university because she wanted to make a better life for her children. She understood what it was like to grow up in poverty and was determined to continue with her educational pursuits. She went back to high school and earned her mature student diploma. Then she enrolled at the University of Winnipeg and learned that she could be successful even while raising children. Jerri-Lynn’s educational experience is something she is proud of and with her experiences she is able to inspire and motivate Native Access Program students. Jerri-Lynn realized getting an education would change her life and her perspective of the world. She believes that if she can do it, anyone can!
