Leslie Malcolm
With several years of experience in distance education and e-learning in higher education, I use this extensive knowledge and expertise to provide operational and strategic leadership in the management and development of technology-enhanced services and initiatives administered through the Teaching Commons. As Coordinator of Learning Technologies and Innovation, I oversee the institutional learning management system (mycourselink/D2L) and other educational technologies and tools to support learning; lead ed-tech initiatives and pilot projects; support the development and delivery of online and hybrid courses; and, provide instructional design and technical support for faculty and administrative staff using technology in instruction and training.
I’m a long-standing member of the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE), Ontario Council of University Lifelong Learning (OCULL) (currently Past-President), and the Ontario University Council on e-Learning. I’m also actively involved with eCampusOntario and Contact North initiatives and serve on several institutional teaching & learning, and advisory committees.
I hold a Master of Education (M.Ed), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Psychology). As an advocate for lifelong learning, I regularly participate in professional development opportunities with a focus on educational technologies for learning.
I look forward to supporting those using, considering, or exploring technologies in teaching and learning.
