Graduate Student Supervision

I am interested in supervising master level students in two programs: the MES in Nature-Based Recreation and Tourism and the MES in Northern Environments and Cultures. I am always willing to talk to potential graduate students about research opportunities and their ideas. Recent MES theses completed under my supervision are:

  • Houston, M. 2012. Wilderness Risk Management and YMCA Outtripping Programs. School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, Lakehead University.
  • Johnston, A. 2011. Stakeholder Perspectives on Climate Change and Adaptation in Expedition Cruise Tourism in Nunavut. School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, Lakehead University.
  • Noakes, J. 2009. Participants' Views on Constraints and Opportunities in the Development of Diamond Tourism in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, Lakehead University.
  • McClelland, C. 2008. An Exploration of the Views of Volunteers in Outdoor Recreation within a Social Economy Framework. School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, Lakehead University.
