Carly Ducharme-Skinner

Carly Ducharme-Skinner (she/her) is joining the team at Lakehead University (LU) as an Indigenous Student Counsellor - a shared/partnered role between the Student Health & Wellness and Indigenous Initiatives Departments. She is a registered social worker and completed the Honours Bachelor of Social Work program through Lakehead University. She is currently completing a Master of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency (ITR) through the University of Toronto. For the past fifteen years, Carly has had the privilege of working with First Nation organizations and communities in varying capacities. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario - Carly is a partner, daughter, sister, auntie, and dog-mom to several fur-babies! In her free time she loves to be outside whether it be in her garden or on the lake fishing/kayaking. In the winter time, she loves to snowboard or go cross country skiing. Carly is looking forward to meeting and getting to know both staff and students alike!
