I began my career in the oil and gas industry in Calgary, Alberta, as an Oil Sands Laboratory Technician. I went on to obtain my Chemical Engineering Technology diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. After advancing my career in a variety of production engineering, environmental and regulatory compliance roles as a Certified Engineering Technologist, I attended Lakehead University’s Chemical Engineering program as part of the unique transition program for college Engineering Technology graduates.

I am from Fort Severn in Northern Ontario and a proud mother of four children. I didn’t know when I wanted to continue in nursing. When I saw that NNEP was offered, I immediately wanted to pursue my nursing further. I wanted to be prepared for the four year BScN program. It has been a learning experience with my courses. As I’m completing my program, I would recommend NNEP because it can prepare students before the BScN.

I like being able to recognize a lot of faces wherever I go because it makes my school experience feel more personal. By going to Lakehead, I am able to live at home (seriously, staying at home isn't all bad!), save a LOT of money, and enjoy my parents' hospitality!
