Business Diploma to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration major) Degree Transfer Program

Program Information

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce program includes learning experiences in:

  • General knowledge and skill areas that include communication abilities, ethical understanding and reasoning abilities, analytic skills, use of information technology, understanding of multicultural and diversity issues, and reflective thinking skills.
  • Management-specific knowledge and skill areas that include ethical and legal responsibilities in organizations and society; financial theories, analysis, reporting and markets; creation of value through the integrated production and marketing of goods, services, and information; group and individual dynamics in organizations; statistical data analysis and management science as they support decision-making processes throughout an organization; information technologies as they influence the structure and processes of organizations and economies, and as they influence the roles and techniques of management; domestic and global economic environments of organizations.
  • Developing capacities to lead in organizational situations; to apply knowledge in new and unfamiliar circumstances through a conceptual understanding of relevant disciplines; to adapt and innovate to solve problems, to cope with unforeseen events, and to manage in unpredictable environments.
  • Developing a commitment to an area of specialization and acquiring advanced knowledge in that area; developing advanced theoretical or practical skills for that area; devoting explicit attention to the role of the specialization area in managerial and organization contexts.

How the Transfer Program Works

You enter into Year 3 of the four-year Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration major) program, and can complete your degree in as little as two years. You must complete a spring/summer bridging program (with a minimum 60% average) consisting of 2 full course equivalents of courses in order to enter the fall term.

Admission Requirements

To be consider for admission, you must:

  • Complete a two-year Business Diploma from an accredited Ontario college, and
    • Your college diploma must state Business. For example, Business - Accounting or Business - Marketing
  • Achieve an overall average of at least 75%. 

Note: if you have completed a three-year Business Administration Advanced Diploma, refer to the transfer program information for three-year Business Administration Advanced Diploma graduates

Business Diploma to the Bachelor of Administration Degree Transfer Program

Program Information

The Bachelor of Administration program continues to serve those students interested in obtaining a broad-based business education with an emphasis on general administration and entrepreneurship. This program continues to provide a reasonable time frame for individuals employed full-time, seeking to complete a business degree on a part-time basis. Courses in this program are scheduled in the evenings, on a rotating basis, to permit students to take courses outside of regular work hours. For these reasons the program provides a vital service and linkage to the local business community.

The curriculum includes learning experiences in:

How the Transfer Program Works

You enter into the final year of the three-year Bachelor of Administration program, and can complete your degree in approximately one year, after the bridging program. If admitted, you must complete a spring/summer bridging program (with a minimum 60% average) in order to enter the fall term. The spring/summer term consists of four courses. If you did not complete an Ontario high school Grade 12 University-level Mathematics credit, or equivalent, you will need to complete Business 1036, instead of an open elective, during the spring/summer bridging program.

Program Information

Computer Science is a dynamic area that has and will continue to drive innovation. Therefore, a key part of our education is about the knowledge and skills needed in order to capture the new technologies of the future. The following are some of our educational aims:

  • Practical experience and theoretical understanding of design methods for the specification, programming and analysis of a wide range of computing systems.
  • The ability to plan and accomplish a substantial project.
  • Experience in co-operative working through team projects, with their demands on the management of partners and time. 
  • Skills in written and oral communication.
  • The ability and confidence to learn, unaided, new subjects and to locate and critically evaluate information.
  • High quality training at the graduate level for both industrial and further advanced study paths
  • An appreciation of the environmental impact of computer and network technologies and the skills to limit this impact with innovative approaches

Our Department is small enough to give undergraduate students direct access to the professors along with ample access to high-end computing equipment.  We cover a broad range of computer science material  including current object oriented software development technologies, web technologies, computer security, artificial intelligence, networking and  related hardware technology, computer graphics, and a range of theoretical computing topics. Additionally, we include in many of our courses examples relating to current areas of interest and employer demand such as game programming, internet applications, mobile programming  and computer security.

Graphic Design Diploma to Honours Bachelor of Arts & Sciences (Media, Film, & Communications major) Degree Transfer Program

Program Information

Our Media Studies program provides you with a well-rounded, interdisciplinary education emphasizing the critical analysis of media and the development of production skills. To gain a broad field of knowledge about the industry, you will explore topics related to the following media: video, new media, design, TV, radio, and sound art. Our Media Studies program will particularly allow you to immerse yourself in the cutting-edge world of social media - from production to dissemination to analysis - and beyond.

Through hands-on labs and workshops, you will learn how new media is an accessible way to engage with our world and to challenge systemic problems like sexism, racism, homophobia, and social injustices of all kinds. If you are interested in learning how and why your cell phone has just as much cultural power as CNN, this program is for you.

Our program is known for producing environmentally conscious and responsible graduates with excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. You will be trained to meet the growing demands of interdisciplinary practitioners in the diverse fields of science and sustainability.

In addition to the core Environmental Sustainability courses, you will take courses in the following areas:
