General Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission as a Visiting (e.g. Letter of Permission) Student, you must be currently attending another university and have received permission from that university to take courses at Lakehead University. For students interested in visiting Lakehead as an exchange student, click here

To meet the General Admission Requirements to Lakehead, you will need the following:

    • You must submit an official copy of your Letter of Permission from your home institution 
    • Transcripts may be requested at the discretion of the admissions committee 

    Course Availability

For a list of our online courses, please visit Continuing Education & Distributed Learning. Please note that some courses are restricted to certain programs, or require certain prerequisite courses to be completed. Be sure to check each course for restrictions by clicking on the course title in the course timetables.

    How to Apply

    To apply to Lakehead University, you will need to apply here:  Lakehead University Undergraduate Application.  When completing the application, you will be provided the option to select Letter of Permission under browse programs.

    To expedite the process, you can upload a copy of your Letter of Permission to your myInfo account. The document upload function is located in your myInfo account under the Applicant tab.
