High school Advanced Standing
Lakehead University considers the below secondary school curricula for Advanced Standing credit. Advanced standing is automatically awarded once the University receives all final official transcripts/exam results. A maximum of 3.0FCE may be awarded for eligible secondary school coursework. Faculty of Engineering programs are not eligible for Advanced Standing at this time.

If you have achieved a minimum grade of 4 on any of the below Advanced Placement exams, you may be eligible to receive advanced standing. To be considered for advanced standing, you must have the College Board send your results electronically to Lakehead University as soon as they are available. Details on how to request your AP scores can be found on the AP College Board website. The following courses are not eligible for transfer credit:

Applicants who have completed the below approved Higher Level (HL) subjects with a score of five (5) or better as part of their IB Diploma Programme (DP) may be considered for Advanced Standing. Applicants presenting GCE A-Level examinations with a minimum grade of "C" may be considered for advanced standing.

Select two-unit Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) subjects completed with a minimum grade of III (3) are eligible for Advanced Standing consideration. Please see the table below for a list of the CAPE transfer credits that Lakehead University currently offers. One-unit CAPE courses are not eligible for transfer credit. You must have your final official CAPE results sent directly to Lakehead University as soon as they are available. Your final official CAPE results must be sent directly to Lakehead University - Recruitment & Admissions from your high school, or the Caribbean Examinations Council. Results issued on high school transcripts are not accepted. Recognized CAPE CoursesThe following chart outlines the CAPE courses that Lakehead University recognizes along with the course in which it is deemed to be equivalent to at Lakehead.
