Business Arising from the Minutes
 i)  Creation of Ph.D. Working Group
G. Bonifacio discussed the possibility of forming an informal working group to develop a Ph.D. program in Global Studies.  The first step would be a discussion with the faculty for ideas and suggestions as to how to move forward.  It was mentioned that some departments have tried to move forward on developing a Ph.D. program within their own departments; however, support from administration was lacking.  Also, it was stated that the group would need to let students know what kind of jobs would be available that were non-academic.  Anyone interested in being part of this group should email G. Bonifacio.

ii)  Review of Graduate Studies Committee
G. Bonifacio stated that it might be a good idea to have a formal graduate committee to review/approve awards, research, etc.  There is currently none in place.  If this is to be formal, it should have a clear description as well as terms of reference.  Anyone interested in meeting to discuss the options should email the Dean.
