My name is Natasha and I’m an Anishinaabekwe artist from Manitou Rapids. I'm currently studying Visual Arts at Lakehead University, however my artistic journey started when I was much younger. Creating art was one of my earliest interactions with my culture and serves as an act of resurgence. I began painting and practicing traditional crafts when I was 12. I was heavily inspired by the artists that surrounded the powwow circles my family went to and I soon found myself among them. In recent years, I have been focusing on reconnecting with my culture and developing my art in both a technical and personal way.
Session 1: September 9, 2024 12:30 - 2pm (Agora Circle by the tipi - rain location Agora)
Join us with Indigenous Artist Tashie Broadbent for a conversation to share what reconciliation means to you? From this session Tashie will create a piece that we will paint as a community.
Session 2: Sept 16, 2024 - 12:30 - 2pm (Agora)
Join us and participate in painting a permanent piece to be exhibited on campus
Session 3: Sept 26, 2024 12:30 - 1pm (Agora)
Unveiling
Everyone is welcome
