"Originally, when I chose to study Science at Lakehead, I hoped to get into medicine but now that I am here I am being exposed to all sorts of other areas including research and forensics - I'm so addicted to the show CSI and now want to pursue a career in forensics.

This past summer, I have had an amazing experience working in the Science lab as a Research Assistant. I am involved in exposing fathead minnows to different types of pollution and waste from mills. I then analyze the fish eggs to see if production is reduced, look at the organs to see if there is a reduction/increase in genes, and so on. This has been a great hands-on experience for me to put my education to practice.

Outside of school, I enjoy my time living in Thunder Bay. I like the idea that the City of Thunder Bay is a larger city but is still connected with nature and has a small town kind of charm that bigger cities don't have.

My message to all prospective students is not to dismiss Lakehead University because it's smaller. You should choose Lakehead because it is small. This means you will have small class sizes, more interaction with profs and a greater learning experience."
